Schools
- I Matter Foundation contributed immensely to the school, we have screened more than 120 learners for learning disorders.
- Trained foundation phase teachers about learning disorder
- Capacitated the staff on teacher development
- Had RCUP twice a week for the past year which has helped improve the performance of learners in the school and gave an opportunity to young unemployed youth in the community to give back to the community by helping with the after school and Saturday classes
I Matter Foundation also partnered with the school, offered teacher capacitation workshop and screening 40 learners who much needed it.
I Matter Foundation also partnered with the school, offered teacher capacitation workshop and screening 75 learners who much needed it. IMF and the school reached out to community members by donating clothes and toiletries.
I Matter Foundation also partnered with the school, offered teacher capacitation workshop and screening 130 learners who much needed it. I Matter Foundation has just launched the RCUP in the school which will only be on Saturdays based on the dynamics in the community. The program accommodates learners form Ndabanhle Primary school and surroundings schools in Osizweni.
The organization offers Psychological counseling sessions in the school, which offered by our psychological counselor Lungelo who visits the school 3 times a week based on the need of the school.
The program has been successful and has helped the school improve their grade 12 results.
Screening 70 learners at Mzila primary school, to support the school SBST in identifying learning disorders in learners. The 70 learners who were screened were identified by their educators as they have picked up, they are struggling in class.
For the screening process to be effective parents were invited to be part of the screening, to share information on the learners, their behaviour at home. What the parents notice about their child’s academic performance, who lives with the learner, do they have any social or psychological problems that may result in them having problems academically.
Health Institutions
In 2019 IMF received donations of new-born babies and decided to visit Newcastle provincial paediatric hospital and donated clothes to new mums who were mainly young. They were given clothes and also they were taught about the importance of parenting, child development.
Social Establishments
I Matter Foundation has done most of their work in Siyahlala La since its establishment. We have made an impact in the lives of many people in the area. Programs done
- July 18, 2017, Madiba Day- I Matter Foundation donated clothes to 300 community members consisting of children, women and man in the community. The aim was to establish a relationship with the community and establish a partnership.
- July 18, 2018, Madiba Day drive themed as “Life lived for a purpose” was such a huge success. I Matter Foundation did the drive-in partnership with Eskom Newcastle, Dr Jetach, Dr Ndlovu (Newcastle Psychological services)
I Matter Foundation also started a support group for parents of children who have learning difficulties. And hosted a conference 9 August for mothers themed “Life through Mothers Eyes”
